As the new Digital Strategy Intern, I am so excited to join the Alipes team!
Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, I attended Boston University where I received a bachelor's degree in journalism this past May. Over the past few years, I have gained experience telling meaningful stories in a variety of mediums and platforms. From covering student government meetings for The Daily Free Press, BU's independent student newspaper, to writing about new building proposals and the consequential threat of gentrification for The Bay State Banner, I have developed an invaluable set of skills that I will carry with me throughout my future roles. I most recently interned at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), where I helped create an animated instructional video to assist the intake process of new clients. Not only did this experience help sharpen my graphic design skills, but it allowed me to cultivate a skill I used in journalism--taking a complicated issue and condensing it into a story that is digestible for mass audiences--and use it in a new and unfamiliar way.
In my new position as the Digital Strategy Intern, I am excited to develop and strengthen my digital marketing skills and I look forward to learning as much as possible from the dedicated and collaborative team at Alipes. I hope to combine my passion for writing and storytelling with my strong interest in marketing and digital media. I was especially drawn to Alipes because of the unique opportunity it gives me to try my hand in the creative and tech realms, in addition to my role in digital strategy. I love the creativity that marketing requires, and I am particularly looking forward to crafting copy for our clients' social media and learning html.
When I'm not at the office, you can find me in hot yoga classes, going to the movies, and reading true crime novels.
