Torrey leads the Alipes team by setting the strategy and vision for the company. She works closely with strategy, design, and technology team members to execute smart, creative, and dynamic campaigns for clients.
Prior to joining the team, she spent 13 years working for global public relations agency Burson-Marsteller, opening the agency’s Boston office in 2010. Throughout her career, she has advised clients on a range of communications issues, including strategic planning and campaign building, product launches, media tours and events, crisis management, and influencer relations.
Torrey received her MBA from Boston University, with a strategy concentration, and her BA from Colgate University. One of her favorite discoveries was In n Out's "animal-style" burger, and she now tries to find the best off-the-menu items all over Boston.
Jason began doing freelance animated political cartoons for Alipes’ co-founders before Alipes even existed. Setting the design and creative direction for every Alipes project, he works with the entire team to deliver awesome user experiences. Period. Jason attended the Rhode Island School of Design and enjoys stage acting.
A true technologist, Nathan architects and engineers user experiences that delight, transform, and deliver on client business objectives. Nathan grew up programming, teaching himself BASIC at age 10, and 6502 assembly language at age 14. Nathan was an indie developer before that was even a thing, building several critically acclaimed games and utilities. He has a BA in English from Oberlin College with a minor in computer science, and is a huge fan of the Oxford comma.
Meghan Gardner's career spans both U.S. coasts and two continents. She has more than 15 years of experience as a content and communications strategist, working with clients from tech startups to global enterprises.
Prior to joining Alipes, Meghan headed up the content and communications practice at Proper Villains; before that, she held senior leadership and account management roles at Version 2.0 Communications and LEWIS PR. In addition to her agency experience, Meghan has held in-house marketing communications roles at PA Consulting Group and Wood Mackenzie.
As the weathervane for our content and client service strategy, Meghan leads teams that take a deeply empathetic but ruthlessly perfectionist approach to our clients' programs.
She holds a BAs in English and economics, magna cum laude, from Williams College.
Brendan started teaching himself QBASIC when he hit double digits, and code has been a passion of his ever since. Prior to joining the Alipes team, he worked as Director of Product (and before that, Lead Developer) at a mobile advertising company. Further back, he founded and ran a web development company for a decade. He is a published author and game designer.
Mike works closely with our content, creative, technology, and advertising strategists to bring client ideas to life in ways they hadn’t even envisioned. A relentless consumer of information and inspiration, Mike generates both traditional as well as shareable media. He earned his MFA in Film Production from Boston University's College of Communication.
Part of the creative team, Dustin is a top-notch designer who always asks the right questions to deliver outstanding results. Dustin’s work is both true to individual client brands and quietly clever, showcasing an elegance of thought that brings out the best in our team’s and our clients’ thinking. Dustin received a BFA in graphic design with a minor in illustration from Middle Tennessee State University. In his spare time, he enjoys illustration, typography, and making music.
Kayla helps set content strategy, provides leadership for social media programs, and manages digital projects from inception through execution for our clients. With a background in corporate communications, Kayla advises on messaging, crafts compelling content, and brings an enviable eye for detail to every client initiative. Considered a trusted partner to her clients, who rely on Kayla for smart direction and thoughtful campaign strategy, Kayla received her BA in public relations from SUNY Oswego. Originally from New York, Kayla appreciates a good cup of "cawfee."
As the leader of Alipes’ front-end development team, Sonya brings equal parts curiosity and discipline to our team. Unafraid to explore new ideas, yet no-nonsense when it comes to clean code, Sonya is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Interactive Media and Game Development. Sonya likes to play video games from MMORPGs to MOBAs to Indie, create cosplays, and travel the world.
As the lead of our back-end development team at Alipes, Dan is our go-to for development projects where data architecture meets digital experience. Prior to joining Alipes, he worked for an electronics trade-in company as a full-stack software engineer for two and a half years, where he learned how to program in multiple languages. He loves warm weather, the West Coast, big dogs, and cooking, and holds the distinction of winning Alipes’ first-annual cooking competition with his spectacular chili.
Maureen is a passionate and active member of Boston’s interactive media community who loves watching the digital landscape evolve. With nearly a decade of media planning and buying experience, she’s developed her skill set working with a wide array of great brands. Maureen has worked at some of the largest agencies in Boston including Havas Media, Mullen, and MarcUSA, covering top advertisers like Choice Hotels, McDonald’s, Amtrak, Payless ShoeSource, Rite Aid, and JetBlue. She has garnered two Maven awards for the work completed, the latest for best use of social media. At Alipes, she spearheads all digital advertising efforts.
Colin oversees the ideation, creation, and implementation of engaging and effective multi-channel digital marketing and communications campaigns. An early social media enthusiast who started social meetups before they were a thing, Colin is our clients’ go-to-source for what’s new and what works. From Fortune 150 companies to local organizations and high tech startups, Colin has driven a decade of sustained success. He has extensive experience in SEO, SEM, paid digital media, content writing and syndication, community management, digital public relations, and analytics. Colin graduated from Ithaca College with a BA in integrated marketing communications.
Ryan taught himself QBASIC at 10 and hasn't stopped programming since. Insatiably curious about how and why things work the way they do, Ryan shares a passion for the creative process and the way it yields new thinking with every project. As a full-stack developer, Ryan enjoys working closely with his design, experience, and brand strategy colleagues—both to understand the bigger picture behind the code and to share his deep belief in the strength of the things he helps build. Ryan has a B.A. in computer science from Boston University, likes to DJ, and makes fractal-based artwork in his spare time.
